Founder, Brand Strategist & Cowboy Boot Sculptor | 2023–2024

In the fall of 2023 I began sculpting ceramic cowboy boots as a creative side project. After a dozen or so “orders” from friends and family, I decided to launch it into a mini ecommerce business. Thus, Horse Girl Ceramics was born! More than boots, it was my playground for end-to-end brand building: I developed the concept, created every product by hand, built the digital presence, and grew an organic audience of 3K+ followers.

What I Did

Brand Identity & Voice: Crafted a distinct brand universe blending Western nostalgia with millennial humor—think horse puns, Taylor Swift references, and "yeehaw energy."

Ecommerce Infrastructure: Built and managed a Shopify site optimized for conversion, complete with product photography, copy, and checkout flow.

Content & Social Strategy: Grew TikTok to 3K+ followers and 94K+ likes organically, with top video reaching 600K views.

Product Photography: Conceptualized and shot cohesive product collections that reinforced brand aesthetic.

Operations & Fulfillment: Managed end-to-end logistics including packaging, pricing strategy (I’ll never take “Free shipping” for granted again!), and fulfilling every order.

Grassroots Marketing: Designed print collateral including thank-you note inserts and marketing posters for local distribution.

At the beginning of 2024 I launched my TikTok presence. I tested a variety of video topics, formats, and styles and became an expert the TikTok video editor. After ~6 months of learning and playing, I found my groove and grew my channel to 3k followers and averaged 10k views per post. Peek some samples of my top performing posts below!

Product Photography

To give each collection of boots a distinct look and vibe, I developed a repeatable (easy to pull of) visual aesthetic. Difference collections had different backdrops and props to give them texture and depth. I also played with incorporating nature as backdrops and some photoshoots with me an my creations!
