“Interior Design & You” Webinar Series

MODSY, 2020

In the fall of 2020 (during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic) the Modsy team hosted a live, 3-part series of online seminars. The goal was to engage our audience and give them a creative outlet/distraction during this unprecedented time, position the brand as a thought leader, and educate prospective customers on our service.

The sessions were designed to be engaging and highly actionable, giving participants specific tips, tricks, and tools to use in their own decorating process. The series had over 1,000 participants each session and all 3 seminars were recorded and posted to YouTube.

As a “thank you,” each participant was offered a discount code to use on a Modsy design package, and the series saw a 2% conversion rate.

Session 1: Unboxing Your Interior Design Toolkit

We strategically designed the content in this series to be approachable, actionable, and unique from the wealth of interior decorating advice available online.

In the first session, we broke down 5 simple elements that designers consider when tackling a space, and framed them as your “interior design toolkit.” For each element, we unpacked why it matters, tips for approaching it in your space, and some do’s and don’ts.

Session 2: How to Identify Your Personal Style

There is more than enough style content available online, but why then does it seem so difficult to figure out which is right for you?

In session 2, we offered a unique approach to pinpointing your interior design style. Instead of explaining what minimalism is or giving a history lesson on Mid-Century Modern, we broke down 5 “spectrums of style” in clear, everyday terms. The goal was to help people understand the vibe or feeling they like in a space, and work backwards from there to understand the interior design style that suits them.

Session 3: Creating Your Dream Moodboard

For our third and final session, we wanted to engage our audience with an interactive project—creating a moodboard.

Moodboards are an integral part of the interior design journey, and a fun creative project. In this session, we outlined what a moodboard is, the basics of creating one, and then created one live with participation from the audience.
